Historical Context
The Hudson Valley, discovered by English explorer Henry Hudson in 1609, has been renowned for its fertile land and agricultural potential. Over the centuries, generational farms have thrived, contributing to the region's rich agricultural history.
However, as urbanization takes precedence and generational farms are sold, concerns about food production for the community have surfaced.
Program Objective
The primary objective of the proposed program is to establish a sustainable ecosystem-like community that centers around the cultivation, marketing, and sales of aquaponic fruits and vegetables.
Recognizing the challenges posed by urbanization, this initiative aims to address the need for local and reliable food sources.
